Greetings to you!
My name is Dr. Brian Shute, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, LMT. I bring over 40 years of experience serving our community, along with decades of continuing education in Speech-Language Pathology, Cognitive-Communicative Disorders, Teaching, and the Healing Arts and Sciences. I am a lifelong learner, and I integrate evidence-based traditional, contemporary, and holistic approaches into my practice.
I am licensed to evaluate and treat patients in Washington State and collaborate regularly with physicians and allied health specialists. I continue to provide specialized speech-language pathology and cognitive-communicative services with a focus on established patients, selected referrals, and consultation.
I am joined by my wife, Michelle Shute, MS, CCC–SLP, co-owner and practice administrator. Michelle is also a nationally certified and Washington State–licensed speech-language pathologist with extensive professional experience. While she is not currently accepting patients for evaluation or treatment, she manages our clinic operations and scheduling—ensuring every patient’s experience is smooth, organized, and supported by her clinical insight.
At this time I am beginning a gradual transition towards retirement. I am deeply grateful for the trust that patients, families, and referring professionals have placed in me over the years. To ensure that I can continue providing the highest level of care to those already under my care, I am no longer accepting Medicare or commercial insurance referrals. I will continue to see my established patients and, for the foreseeable future, a limited number of Labor & Industries and specialized adult communication cases.
Our office is located in scenic South Spokane, where we continue to provide in-person and telehealth services for our established patients and selected specialty referrals.
